SALISBURY – The predictions were many about how the drivers of the Whelen Modified Tour would handle the tight twists and turns of the 1.5-mile Lime Rock Park Road course.
In the months leading up to day’s Lime Rock 100, the first event for the division at the historic circuit, many crystal ball gazers expected to see pileups of many on the opening laps, with some even predicting a pileup of double-digit proportions on the course’s first corner, Big Bend.
And then the drivers of the Whelen Modified Tour went out and proved the naysayers wrong, getting though the first laps and most of the way without any big moments of trepidation or wrecks.
