Rain Forces Cancellation At Thompson International Speedway; Sunday Event Added To Schedule In September

August 5th, 2010

Heavy storms rolling through the Northeastern Connecticut this afternoon forced Thompson International Speedway officials to pull the plug on tonight’s Whelen All-American Series racing card and also their scheduled 40-lap Tour Type Modified Shootout event.

Thompson Logo.jpgThe cancellation means an extra date of racing added to the track’s weekly schedule, on a different day than normal.

Thompson Speedway officials made the decision to add an event to the schedule on Sunday Sept. 26. The new event will include the last of four 40-lap Tour Type Modified Shootout events for the season and also will include the final points day for all six of the track’s Whelen All-American Series divisions.
